Once you receive it, download the demo updater and begin your composition. The contest ends November 30th. There is no purchase necessary to enter and/or win. Good Luck! Christina Quote
montpellier Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 It sounds a grand prize. The expense hardly makes it feasible. You're talking VERY big money even if tacked on to other recordings what with rehearsals and post production. Nice if the deal includes distribution, though none of the biggies likes to push an unknown name at this time. Be careful with securing copyright. recorded live what are the alternatives? . Quote
Realize Music Posted August 13, 2006 Author Posted August 13, 2006 Hi Montpellier, That is the grand prize. The costs of the LSO/ARS recording and rehearsal time are covered by NOTION. The deal doesn't include distribution. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have regarding the contest or the software. Christina Quote
Nightfly Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Hey this looks like a good oportunity ! I have already ordered my demo version. Hope it arrives before 8 spetember, since I am moving out. I am currently in london, do you have any idea if it will arrive on time ? The fact that the winning composition will not be distributed is a bit dissapointing though. But I cant ask for more, its LSO performing !!! The website does not include information about how the composition should be. Max duration ? any restrictions in instrumentation ? Quote
Realize Music Posted August 13, 2006 Author Posted August 13, 2006 Hi Nightfly! Here is the link to the rules: http://www.notionmusic.com/win/rules.cfm Composition must be the contestant Quote
leightwing Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 I got my Notion Demo a few weeks ago. I hate it. [/b] Just curious 'cuase i'm thinking of trying it out. What don't you like about it? Quote
Nightfly Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 Christina, I ordered the demo version but I didn't get a confirmation email. Quote
Guest Brandon Homayouni Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 I got my demo version and it is undoubtedly specially flawed so you buy the real version. When you enter a note, it does not go on the place you assign it. You cannot import things, so you're forced to use the awkward entry tool. This is obviously so you buy the actual program in order to enter the competition, which I will not do. Quote
hornplayer153 Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 I just got my demo version... I think it's a great program, but I don't think it would replace finale or any of the mainstream music notation programs, however I do like it's playback abilities. Quote
Nightfly Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 HEY WHERE IS MY DEMO !!! I ORDERED SOME TIME AGO NOW Quote
johannhowitzer Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 Well, this is certainly intriguing! Brandon, sure it's a hassle to enter the stuff into Notion, but hey, this is the LSO we're talking about. Quite a prestigious contest. As for me, if I enter, I'll be writing my piece(s) in Finale, and then transcribing everything into Notion. It's just easier that way, I don't have to worry about learning the subtleties of a new piece of software just for this one contest. Quote
Nightfly Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 My demo has finally arived ! I liked the sounds that are included very much. It somehow sounded slightly better than GPO to me. And it is much less complex than Finale. There are some stuff that you can do much easier than finale. But I prefer finale always. It took me AGEEEES to learn it so Im not throwin my time away for this  hahaha Quote
JanKesler Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 It sounds too good to be true--the London Symphony Orchestra? How phenomenal. Quote
