Sonatina Arcaica

Just two short parts. I wanted to write "emotionally" using contemporary tools. I think most contemporary idioms are linked to ancient ones (in music).

The second part (2:35) uses the In Sen scale all the time in the right hand (except a few passing notes), and also in the left hand but less. I think you called this scales Miyako Bushi.

This is a nice piece! I can feel the "heaviness" of this piece. I mean, it's like when you are bearing some burden related to some sad memories. For me, Tranquility and slow tempo make the effect. 

I am quite impressed with the use of Sen scale (or even pentatonic scales) in a sad piece - I haven't thought of that before.
