Muhammadreza Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 Hey guys! I'm really suffering from writer's block and I want to know your opinion about these pieces I wrote as a "practice" to write a serious metal song ... I tried Ambient Black Metal, Atmospheric Black Metal (Blackgaze, actually!) and Funeral Doom. And, I want to know which one I made better and I should continue. Upload center of YC gave me some errors, so I uploaded them in an Iranian site. I hope you can download theme (facepalm) Ambient black metal : http://s8.picofile.com/file/8333929826/ambientBlackMetal.mp3.html Blackgaze : http://s8.picofile.com/file/8333929934/Blackgaze_Sketch.mp3.html Funeral Doom : http://s8.picofile.com/file/8333929992/FuneralDoomSongTestPointless.mp3.html Quote

Luis Hernández Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 I have no idea about the difference in those (sub)styles. But the first one is nice beacuse of the ethereal atmosphere in the first part. The second one has a very "crazy" rhytmic patterns... Well, I know at this point you're very good with rhythms... i dn't know what to tell you about which direction you should take. Why to make a restriction? Work on the style you like most, but don't discard the others. Quote

Well, I know at this point you're very good with rhythms... Thanks! I got the idea from "progressive" metal music for drums. Drums play 5/16 and 7/16 and 7/8 but guitar is simple 4/4. I love to play with rhythms like this. 3 minutes ago, Luis Hernández said: But the first one is nice beacuse of the ethereal atmosphere in the first part. You know, this is why I love this genre. I really wanted to copy bands like Vinterrikket but I couldn't. 5 minutes ago, Luis Hernández said: Why to make a restriction? Before I start serious music production, I restricted myself to drone, ambient and noise music. Later, I tried to make EDM music and other types of electronic music. But now, I just got blocked by myself and I can't make my ideas on paper or DAW. Quote
