KJthesleepdeprived Posted October 13, 2018 Posted October 13, 2018 Hi there! I like the overall tone of this piece. I think I'd enjoy playing it since it's quite Octobappropriate for the season. I saw in another post that you said you only work with MIDI and don't have scores for your music? Because of this, I may have to learn this by ear because I'm really fond of it. Keep it up, I've heard your other music and it's very enjoyable! Quote
Donethur Posted October 14, 2018 Author Posted October 14, 2018 (edited) Thanks mate. I am preparing a new one. I could send you the midi if you want. Please PM if you feel it may make things easier. I would love to hear your playing 😊 Edited October 14, 2018 by Donethur Quote
SergeOfArniVillage Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 You have very good "musical sense." You know when to repeat a phrase or thought, and when to develop, which is really important. Also, your musical language sounds accomplished and strong. Excellent use of scales, pleasant chord progressions. Very enjoyable to listen to. A couple nitpicks. I thought the "stops" at the ends of your phrases at 1:30 and 1:38 were distracting, and didn't work. Also, one suggestion I have: silence is one of the most powerful tools a composer has in his arsenal, ironically enough. If you learn to make a powerful phrase and music, and then let complete silence fall, and continue, this can have a lasting impact on listeners. Sometimes the way to develop your music, is simply to stop, and let it sink in, and then continue. Really enjoyed this piece. Thanks for sharing with us! Quote
Donethur Posted October 15, 2018 Author Posted October 15, 2018 (edited) Yes, it is just my personality, too direct (but this has stops actually). But I am working over it to make it better :)... I pretend to improve everything you have heard, I pretend to make my best music in 5 years as a plan, this is only what is being resulting in my learning path :). I appreciate your suggestions, i think thats really good feedback (thats the reason I am still here, because of the quality of the suggestions).. Rgds, Edited October 15, 2018 by Donethur 1 Quote
