Preludio y Fuga (Modal)

Usually, I don't like working on fuges. Although I love counterpoint, and use it all the time, so many rules are not what I like most.

So, I wrote this piece using different classic modes, which provide more freedom.

I enjoyed listening to this one. Free fugues (not strictly following traditional rules) are so pleasurable to listen to. 

I think this would shred as a solo guitar piece, especially the beautiful section starting at measure 16. Lovely interplay of voices and harmony, with a bit of a surprise ending. I like stuff that bends the ear a bit. Well struck!

I like it! It's not easy to write a good fugue, although some people think that it's nothing hard with all the rules - it seems like a cookbook to them for some reasons :)

I also love that it doesn't seem like a pianist would break all his fingers on it.
