qqnz Posted February 2, 2019 Posted February 2, 2019 (edited) This is one I wrote, it is my first attempt at a piano trio. There are 3 movements, the latter 2 of which are connected by attaca (you cannot tell in the computer recording, so I just wanted to point it out). Jared Steven Destro Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 I think the piece has a nice flow and continuation of material. If possible, a score always helps us give a little more feedback. While I can't really critique this stylistically, I can say that the balance between the instruments feels natural and nicely crafted. Quote
pateceramics Posted March 16, 2019 Posted March 16, 2019 Agreed! A score is always helpful. This has a nice variety of material to it. One thing to think about for the next one would be some more held notes for the strings. They tend to cut out when the piano comes to the front of the texture, but you can get some good harmonic mileage out of using them as a pedal note while the piano shifts around them for a more dramatic feel. Great first trio! Quote
