Donethur Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Hello all, I am sharing here my latest piece. I recomposed a piece I wrote in 2017, so I fixed several details and recomposed others, and now I like it way more than before. Hope you like it. SergeOfArniVillage Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 Really pleasant to listen to. I appreciate the gentle, floaty theme being “poked” occasionally by more staccato sections. You also have some really lovely harmonies going on, too. Without a score, it’s really difficult to give specific feedback. All I can say in the way of constructive criticism, is that, like, even at the very beginning, the left hand is drowning out the right hand’s melody, although this gets better throughout most places in the piece. I think the issue is that the middle register doesn’t want to have volume contrast, and that stays consistent through the piece. The higher octaves ring clear, but at the middle register, the lower hand overpowers the melody. Whatever you can do to fix this will add a huge amount of “production quality” to your piece. Really nice work here. Thanks for sharing with us! 😁 Quote
Monarcheon Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 Serge touched on this a bit; to me, it just doesn't seem to have a ton of range from apex to nadir. It seems to stay pretty consistent. I don't think this feeling is helped by the pretty static tempo throughout either. Quote
