My choir teacher in high school always had this metafore about how singing is like a ham and cheese sandwhich. So I wrote a song about a ham and cheese sandwhich, and got most of it recorded on this years choir CD. I've seen a few other random songs about food here and there, but has anyone else here written a song about food? if so, what? and why?

For some reason, I read this thread and thought it read "Songs about froods" .

Anyway, you can write music about anything, if it compels you to do so...and since so many people love food, I don't see why music about it should be unusual. I've never heard of anything pieces specifically about food, but I know Rossini was quite a big fan of food ;)

Not mine. But if these lyrics don't sound familiar, something's clearly wrong with you. :P

Tried to amend my carnivorous habits

Made it nearly seventy days

Losin' weight without speed, eatin' sunflower seeds

Drinkin' lots of carrot juice and soakin' up rays

But at night I'd had these wonderful dreams

Some kind of sensuous treat

Not zucchini, fettucini or bulghur wheat

But a big warm bun and a huge hunk of meat

Cheeseburger in paradise

Heaven on earth with an onion slice

Not too particular not too precise

I'm just a cheeseburger in paradise...

I seem to remember reviewing a piece on here called Parsnip, if I'm not mistaken :D

I seem to remember remarking the piece managed to evoke a sense of parsnip quite well :P
