Aria Donn Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 A piece I composed a while ago, but thought to share. I wrote this in response to a Reddit challenge to write a piece in a mode other than major/minor, and I chose to try Phrygian, but in practice it more or less turned into regular minor with the occasional lowered second. Nonetheless I'm proud of how the piece turned out. 1 Quote
Luis Hernández Posted August 20, 2019 Posted August 20, 2019 Lovely pieces. Sometimes the two violins are very close with dissonance. I don't mind them but don't know if was intentional, having in mind the style. Quote
Guillem82 Posted August 26, 2019 Posted August 26, 2019 It's a very beautiful composition. I like the dialog between I and II violins of the first bars, and then I love the violas playing the main theme on the low register from bar 21. Well done! Quote
PeterthePapercomPoser Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 Nice Sarabande! Sounds like it could actually be danced to. Funny how there's such scant information on the internet about the Sarabande's characteristics (besides the fact that it's somewhat slow and in 3/4) but still it's so easy to tell whether a piece of music is a Sarabande or not. This piece is definitely in the manner of a Sarabande. I've written some dances myself but haven't had much success with this particular style of dance. Nice job! Quote
