Hergusbergus Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 Hi, I'm new. I'm currently composing a soundtrack for a video game in early development, and I've started a new composition and completed the rough draft for the climax of the song. If there are any suggestions of anything I should tweak, I'd gladly hear it. I plan to add some sort of percussion MP3 Play / pause JavaScript is required. 0:00 0:00 volume > next menu Lion Palace > next 1 Quote
Tónskáld Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 It's difficult to evaluate without some other passages for contrast, but it sounds really fast and exciting! I like the use of the arpeggiated strings against the brass chorale—very effective and full of drama! Looking forward to hearing the rest of it! Quote

Thanks, I decided to add a transition at the end of the mid part so it can go into a more calm, traditional setting. I also added drums to build hype a bit. Is the transition too sharp? I want to make sure it isn't rough to listeners (Deleted file, apparently the sound messed up. It'll be back in a bit) Edited July 29, 2019 by Hergusbergus Quote
Hergusbergus Posted July 30, 2019 Author Posted July 30, 2019 Apparently converting the wav file into mp3 is what's messing up the sound, I'll need to find a way around this Quote
Hergusbergus Posted July 30, 2019 Author Posted July 30, 2019 This is the best I could get without much static. Here: MP3 Play / pause JavaScript is required. 0:00 0:00 volume > next menu Lion Palace_2 > next Quote
Hergusbergus Posted August 4, 2019 Author Posted August 4, 2019 Third Version. I wonder if the build up is okay? Feedback is most welcome MP3 Play / pause JavaScript is required. 0:00 0:00 volume > next menu Lion Palace_3 > next 1 Quote
SilverWolf Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 sounds epic, what strings were you using? Quote

EWQL's Hollywood Strings Diamond if talking about orchestra, and EWQL's Silk if talking about the Chinese instrument. (Note: Converting WAV to MP3 makes the music sound bad but it's the only way I can actually post here.) Edited August 4, 2019 by Hergusbergus 1 Quote
SilverWolf Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 Hey how's the divisi on the Hollywood version? I'm stuck with Symphonic at the moment, but was looking into getting Hollywood later on. Quote

I always use Hollywood Strings, Hollywood Brass, Hollywood Percussion, and most times Stromdrum 3 for the 'Lord of Toms' instrument. Recently I've also been using Silk for my current composition. SilverWolf Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 I love the Lot ensemble, I need to learn how to layer and eq them though. 1 Quote
Hergusbergus Posted August 26, 2019 Author Posted August 26, 2019 (edited) Finally found out how to fix the audio and also gave the song an unfinished beginning. There will be a better transition from beginning to middle, don't worry. Edited August 26, 2019 by Hergusbergus MP3 Play / pause JavaScript is required. 0:00 0:00 volume > next menu BME > next Quote
