Aiwendil Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 (edited) After finishing my Dr. Caligari soundtrack, I've returned to working on the second of my soundtracks for the Thrawn trilogy from the Star Wars expanded universe, and thought I'd post a track that I just finished. This is from early in the book, and incorporates John Williams's main theme and the Force theme, as well as introducing a new motif for a secondary villain. Any criticisms would be greatly appreciated as I revise this track and work on others. Thanks! bkho Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 Very nice, really captured the feel of Star Wars but in your own way, not as a pastiche of Williams though you cleverly incorporated some of his famous themes in it. I'm a big fan of the Thrawn books myself so this is pretty cool. My only critique is simply choosing this track to identify with the Ferrier character. If I recall, he was a shifty ship thief so I wouldn't automatically associate this track with the lush orchestration and the use of the hero theme with him. Quote
Aiwendil Posted August 25, 2019 Author Posted August 25, 2019 Thanks! Yeah, this track is meant for a scene where Luke and Lando confront Niles Ferrier while he's trying to steal a New Republic ship; the heroic music is meant for them. Niles Ferrier's motif is the thing you hear around 1:02. Quote
