nostalgia Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 Program note I wrote this music after recalling the lifestyles of new generation in 1990s I saw and heard when I was young. Called Generation X, this generation refused to conform to existing socially accepted ideas and expressed this with their freewheeling lifestyles. It was around that time when lots of new trends in fashion, music, etc., became popular, and these trends easily distinguish this generation from previous generation. I tried to make music describing their distinctive lifestyles, in lively, jazzy style, but also Sturm und Drang type passages describing conflict with surrounding world (in middle section). Luis Hernández Posted November 2, 2019 Posted November 2, 2019 What a wonderful piece. "Risky" combination harp + piano + vibraphone, but it works well. The works flows nicely between the most agitated parts and the others. Very beautiful score. It's great the deatiled pedal marking for the harp, even other marks for mute, etc... Quote
Jean Szulc Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 Veeery cool piece! It contains a lot of particular ideas, themes rhythms and it all adds up to a nice final product. Also, pretty much the first time I enjoy listening to the vibraphone, so there's that. Good job! Quote
Jim Jones Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 Yeah this is very cool. Very original imho Quote
