Hello everyone, there is the 3rd movement of my piano concerto in A minor. I posted few months ago the first movement and I'm glad to present you the last one. I worked a lot on the orchestration for this movement and I'm also happy to see my improvements in harmony since the previous movements. What are your thoughts ?

It sounds interesting. It is like you have combined the grace of Mozart, the power of Beethoven, the difficulty of Chopin, and your own style into a single movement.

It took me 3 entiere weeks to complete this movement. That's the last one of my piano concerto, there are 2 others 🙂

Your handling of themes is nothing short of masterful! You also write very well for piano, and the orchestra in general. I see no reason why this shouldn't be performed live!

One criticism: This was extremely reminiscent of Rachmaninoff, particularly the final movement of his 2nd piano concerto. No doubt you used this work (or something similar) as a pattern for sucess—and it works quite well. Nothing to worry about. With your musical gift, I predict you'll emerge into your own voice without any problems!

Great job... an undertaking like this concerto is quite a feat! I look forward to hearing more of your stuff!

I know that some of my pieces are truly inspired from other composers but it is something that I accept. I just try to master different styles in aim to develop my own.

It sounds beautiful. I think you have a good grasp of orchestration.

Some critique:

1. I don't feel that you truly devote much attention to developing material. Instead, I see a lot of new material appear that is comprised of similar motivic material -none of which is developed in the fullest sense.

2. While the movement is labeled Allegro con Fuoco (Fast, with fire), I can't help but feel this is the wrong marking. It definitely has an emotional quality -but I wouldn't use the term fuoco to describe. This is a minor thing though.

All in all, I did enjoy this and look forward to hearing more of your work.

Wow! Those piano lines in the beginning are amazing!! That moment at 3:39... wow.... Oh my god 4:51!! the way you write for piano is so free flowing and inventive. It is clear that you have dedicated a lot of time to composition. I hope to hear more from you!

As others have noted, your piano writing is extraordinary! For me, composing for piano is a real challenge, but your composition sounds like it just flowed straight from the fingertips of a the best pianist out there- amazing!

You also seem to handle writing for orchestra quite nicely. This is definitely one of the finer works I've seen on here, and I hope it gets all the recognition it deserves.

Also, I want to apologize for the really bad soundfont, I don't have a software that can make the instruments more realistic but I hope you still enjoy the whole.

I just thought back to your comment and now understand what you mean. The new materials that "appear" are actually quotes from the first movement of this concerto. For example, certain parts of the coda and of the development are a resumption of the first theme of the first movement.

It's nice but I felt like maybe the piano could have been given some rest instead of playing block chords with the orchestra like at measure 272.  Then when the piano does come in the orchestra can get really soft and give the piano a shining spotlight and really create a special moment in the music and some interplay between the piano and orchestra.  That's just something I noticed on my first hearing of the work.  Thanks for sharing this energetic work!

Oh thank you for taking the time to comment this very very old work I’m not so proud of! Actually I’ve posted the 2nd movement of my C minor concerto this summer, would you mind take a quick glance at it?
