Samuel Tang Posted October 23, 2019 Posted October 23, 2019 A peaceful piece for string orchestra. With long sustained chords and interesting harmonies. Hope you all enjoy it 🙂 MP3 Play / pause JavaScript is required. 0:00 0:00 volume > next menu Experiment > next PDF Experiment - Full Score Quote
Tónskáld Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 The opening is lush and smooth, like a river flowing with sadness and memories. The harmonies around 1:20 and 1:45 are intense and intricate. Very nice! The segue into the low strings at 2:00 offers a nice reprieve from the slicing high strings. Wow, the transition to major at 3:00 is quite moving! 😥I had to close my eyes and just enjoy the moment! And the switches between dissonance and resolution up until the end are quite tasteful. Overall, another great piece! A real string orchestra would make this sound much fuller and closer to your intent, I'll bet. Great job, Samuel! Cheers, Tónskáld Quote
Monarcheon Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 I get a bit of rhythmic dissonance here with the desire to rest and the desire to move and sometimes it shifts between them a little too much for me; imagine a species counterpoint exercise moving between first and second back and forth... I get that kind of vibe from it at some points. Quote
