Hi all 🙂

It's evening here in France, and I'm glad to present you my new etude for symphonic orchestra.

Hey!

I don't know what specific things you were trying to achieve here, so I'll critique what caught my attention.

I feel like this piece is too homogeous. At any given point in time, the piece has the same texture, with not much contrast. Altough you may have contrasting ideas and sections, it doesn't create enough of a diference between parts to keep piece sounding fresh. About that, the MIDI doesn't help at all, and I'm sure that in real life the piece would sound much more lively.

As for the other elements of the piece, I don't have much of an opinion as your intentions are unknown to me. Perhaps if you could give some more context of the piece, we (people of the forum) could give some better feedback.

I hope it was of any help.

Best wishes, Jean.

Thanks @Jean Szulc for reviewing 🙂

Well as to follow your critic I could say that maybe this piece lacks more variations in intensity, more contrasts between a piano and a forte section for instance. Moreover, as being unused to this B Major tonality, maybe I stick too much to the tonic note.

I rarely start a composition with an intention, at most may I have a starting theme in mind, but then I let the flow come out...

Here the structure is ABACA.

Thanks again 🙂
