OscarDude15 Posted November 13, 2019 Posted November 13, 2019 "Impronum" - inspired by Chopin (Hommage à Frédéric). This is my latest solo piano piece inspired by Chopin's 4 impromptus. Tried to imitate his style in this study. Let me know what you think 🙂 Quote

Lotsy piano Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 (edited) Hello Oscar! 🙂 I am an organist, and unfortunately I never had the opportunity to play Chopin on the organ (I haven't really found any good arrangements, I think the sustain pedal is almost essential to most of Chopin's pieces, and the organ doesn't have sustain pedal, so maybe that's why), so I don't know Chopin very well, but I can hear Chopin in your music, so if that was this study's aim, I think it is definitely successful! I wish I could write stuff like this and play fluid like you, there was a time when I was in college when I tried writing stuff like this, fast paced romantic solo piano pieces, and I never really could do it, the playing and repeating several times the piece while I'm writing it it makes me exhausted very easily, maybe I just don't have a lot of energy or something, but clearly you have, take advantage of it! I saw your YouTube channel and other pieces too, and you have some serious stuff going on there, for example your piano sonata, I just wish I could write stuff like that. I've listened to your "My Original Music" playlist, and at the moment one of my favorite pieces of yours is Blue Fields. Maybe because nowadays I'm listening to slower paced piano music, I don't know, but I also like your Melodic, Melancholic piece, it reminds me to Beethoven for some reason, maybe because of the lower register and octaves? Anyways, I can't really pick out anything specific of this piece that would really bother my ear, so great job on this one! Keep up the good work, I think you are onto something! Have a great day! 🙂 Regards, Lotsy Edited November 24, 2019 by Lotsy piano (I forgot to type 2 words..) Quote
