edfgi234 Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 Tried to improve on the old nocturne in Eb major. It was a real pain this one. Please let me know what you think and any feedback is good. Luis Hernández Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 I like this piece very much. It keeps my interest all the time. Beautiful melodic lines and counterpoint. Most of all, the changing rhythms in both hands are wonderful, and the 3 against 2 in some moments. I feel it as a "rhapsodic" nocturne. 1 Quote
edfgi234 Posted December 9, 2019 Author Posted December 9, 2019 Thanks again @Luis HernándezI appreciate the time you take to listen and give feedback for the pieces I put on here. Yes for some reason it sounded fine with all those changes from duplets to triplets. I'll probably name it rhapsody then. Quote
Samuel Francis 傅经鸿 Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Hey, there. Interesting piece. it has enchanting melodies all the way from start to finish, that weaves into each other almost seamlessly. The 3-against-2 rhythm, I feel, is especially instrumental to achieving the 'Nocturne' feel of the piece; it makes the piece feel very relaxing, dream-like and almost meandering. Reading the previous comments, while I agree it's rhapsodic, I will say that it feels more nocturne than rhapsody, but that's my humble opinion. Overall, beautiful piece! 1 Quote
jawoodruff Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 I love the use of harmony and the meandering feel of the piece. Good work. 1 Quote
