Here is my contribution for the Christmas Event.

Carol of the Bells is, by far, one of my favorite works. I just hope this fugue gives it justice.

Neat little work here. We can't break away from our habits, can we? 🙂
Maybe you would do this on a more powerful notation software, but some of the sixteenth note leaps and stuff made it look a little bit strange and hard to manage; the rest beaming would have worked well for it. I think I may not also agree with all of your pedal markings since they do span over a lot of notes, but I can't deny it's a neat effect.
The chromatic motion used as a supplement to the Schenkerian Ursatz was super clever. I enjoyed this a lot!

We really can't. I was planning on going uber tonal... but LOL!

I absolutely hate Flat -but compared to Noteflight (Which just made this piece disappear), it's a little bit better. The pedal markings were just added to soften Flats rendering for my own ears. Glad you enjoyed it.

This is a great example of how much fugal writing still has to offer us.

I think you did particularly well using two voices on the first page, as you were able to create a lot density (of course, the pedal markings also influence the aural perception of that). So much so that it disguises the entries of the other voices on the second page. The entries of the other voicces only in the middle of the piece was also a nice touch...

Also, the super simple subject lends itself nicely to transformation and development.

Accidentally posted it before I finished writing...

I absolutely adore contrapuntal textures -especially when they are well done (probably comes through in my own works).

Ironically, most of the material in this is derived from the carol of the bells theme -even the counterpoint.

Glad you enjoyed it!

Glorious. I was going to replay it but then there was a repeat at the end. How did you know that was exactly what I'd want!?! 😛

There's so much going on here! I love how you made the descending bass line from the original so off beat in this version. The rhythms in general were just really enjoyable. Lots of color and energy! The chords you ended on were also great. This whole thing was just very satisfying to listen to!

Thanks, KJ! Glad you enjoyed it.
