Fruisen Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 Hello, everyone. This is the first composition I have posted which is longer than eight measures in length! Though I have presented it as a Barcarolle, being as it was initially inspired by Jakob Rosenhain’s Barcarolle in A-Flat Major (Op. 68), it has largely strayed away from the lighter, calmer characteristics of that form, and is ultimately not really a coherent or performance-intended piece. I feel also that I have listened to it so many times these past few days that I can no longer tell if it sounds strange or not, which has driven me to post it in its current state. Any feedback or advice you could give would be very helpful, and I would like to thank Luis Hernández, Monarcheon, and edfgi234 for their comments on my last series of eight-measure pieces. Quote
Luis Hernández Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 Nice work. I like the modulation, and the development of the piece. Although the left hand keeps the pattern all the time, the right hand is very rich and the left hand is perfect as a support, in this case. 1 Quote
aMusicComposer Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 I do think the harmonic progressions are interesting. Sometimes I feel in the first section I could ask for more variety in the right hand, but the style of this piece does work with what you have. Good effort! Quote
