jawoodruff Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 Closer to the finished product. This piece is intended as a submission for a music festival -so, I'm trying to make sure it's as close to perfect as possible. I've expanded the second entrance of the slow section -playing around with the ascending chromatic scale alongside a 4 note motive. This work is a bit personal to me in that it is a reflection on life, death, and my own experience of the two (under the lense of bipolar disorder). Hope you enjoy! Luis Hernández Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 Beautiful piece. It's very expressive and sometimes mournful. It reminds me to metamorphosen by R. Strauss. This would be great with real instruments. Great climax by m. 47-49. 1 Quote

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. 🙂 It's a very different instrumentation (Metamorphosen is for 23 solo string instruments), but it's a very painful music. Give it a listen.... Happy New Year!! Quote
