caters Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 So, I have been stuck in the middle of this Spiders movement of my suite for several days now. There is a short introduction followed by a tarantella. I am moving to the B section of the tarantella and I have no idea what to do after the Bb-Eb chord motion. I was wondering if you have any suggestions as to how to continue on. I can't even seem to figure out how to start the next melody after bar 24. I know I want it to contrast with the previous melody, so I was thinking maybe string tremolos becoming the accompaniment while the woodwinds and piano play the melody. But how to start that melody? Do you have any suggestions? Here is what I have so far of the piece: MP3 Play / pause JavaScript is required. 0:00 0:00 volume > next menu A Suite of Animals - Spiders > next PDF A Suite of Animals - Spiders Quote
Monarcheon Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 Ultimately it doesn't really matter unless you can't justify your own choices. I might go I - IV - V - V/vi - IV or vi - ii7 - V8/6/4 - 7/5/3 to be harmonically appropriate, but there are so many more jazz-like distantly-related chords you could choose to keep very short phrase models within a confusing scheme. marsbars Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 Maybe continue to develop that shape you have in the woodwinds in the beginning Quote
