montpellier Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Just wondered. It's nice to know who's up for reviewing these "higher quality" works - having studied (where possible) the reveiwers so far to see how they tick. A functional issue. .It's no different from getting to know the preferences, strengths and weaknesses of professional commentators in the magazines/newspapers so one can guage their reveiws against one's own preferences, style etc. (or those of others being reveiwed). cheers, M Quote
CaltechViolist Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Hmm. Maybe we should have a sticky thread with profiles of the reviewers, their influences and/or favorite composers, and their level of experience (either as composers or as reviewers, or both)? Quote
Daniel Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Sounds like a good idea. You do pick these things up, but not everyone has been here for a long time. Quote
Mike Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 It's my fault, I'm afraid. I hurriedly changed all the old index.php?showuser=x links on the description to the new vB format of member.php?u=x, but failed to bear in mind that all the user IDs changed during the conversion, so the links then pointed to the wrong users. So I decided just to remove them altogether. The list was somewhat outdated though in that some of the members on it don't review music in the MW forum on a regular basis. In fact, I think Andrew's idea is very good, a much better solution than simply putting all the names on the forum description, so I'll set the ball rolling on that one. Quote
