CalibriStandard Posted May 28, 2020 Posted May 28, 2020 Sort of a Rachmaninoff-ish piece. It's much longer than anything I've written so far, and I sort of feel that the repeated A section at the end gets somewhat boring. Would like some feedback on how to expand this even more. It's usually the transitions that make it hard for me to write longer pieces. Thank you! Guillem82 Posted May 28, 2020 Posted May 28, 2020 That's very interesting. I like the beginning with the melody in the basse (it sounds kind of creepy at times). And then nice constrast when you change the melody to the right hand with a brighter motif. Just a question: what's the purpuse of writing it in A-flat minor? I find it hard to follow the harmony with double-flat accidentals 😅 Quote

Well, as for A flat minor, I just liked the sound of it. (It's impossible to sight read lol) Quote
Albayrak Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 (edited) I like bass walking very much. The passage to the soprano part later was also nice. Edited June 12, 2020 by ClasiCompose 1 Quote
Theodore Servin Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 I actually liked this piece a lot. I love the emotion in the A section, and how it was expressed through the harmonies and melody. I was somewhat confused about the choices for enharmonics, and the lack of a change of key signature at the end to go back to A-flat minor, but thats really doesn't bother me. There are some adjustments I would make in the B section, but really only minor details. Very nice! 1 Quote
