Bradley Scarff Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 I thoroughly enjoyed this piece. there are brilliant flashes of inspiration behind the motion. The only minor point I have is that if you are going for a ternary form style the B section should have a much different contrast. I didn't feel that separation between the sections. perhaps a more jarring switch to the relative key would have helped? just a suggestion. I think this work could be fantastic as a movement of say a piano sonata, but I understand they are a big undertaking. Best wishes and I look forward to hearing more Quote

Bradley Scarff Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 Perhaps by writing two completly separate themes before trying to put them together may help in that regard. maybe try and create a more lyrical section and then find a way to connect them. make sure they're in separate keys as well! modulations I find are the hardest parts of composition 1 Quote
