PeterthePapercomPoser Posted July 9, 2020 Posted July 9, 2020 This a fanfare I composed for an imaginary RPG that I plan on writing someday. The instrumentation is for 2 Trumpets, 2 French Horns, Timpani, Tubular Bells, Violins, Violas, Cellos and Basses so I guess its more for a Chamber Orchestra. Unfortunately, because I'm using an ancient computer my audio device does not support stereo recording so this is the best quality mp3 I could muster. I also don't have a score so I included the midi if you'd like to look at it. Thank you for listening. Mitchell Posted July 10, 2020 Posted July 10, 2020 Nice one. It does give me Chrono Trigger vibes. I think it's suitable as it is to go into an RPG; I might have preferred a more independent bass part in a repeated section or something, just to squeeze as much out of the ~90 seconds as you can. 1 Quote
PeterthePapercomPoser Posted July 12, 2020 Author Posted July 12, 2020 Quote Nice one. It does give me Chrono Trigger vibes. Now that's a high compliment! Chrono Trigger is my favorite game of all time by far. I don't even know how to express how much I love it! 😍 I like to think that it's one of my biggest influences so thank you for verifying that for me! I almost always write with an RPG in mind unless I'm writing classical-style music. And you're right about changing it up on the repeat. I tend to just write repeats without through-composing I guess because I'm afraid that I'll run out of ideas or mess up the already decent music. Thanks for you comments! 😃 Quote
PeterthePapercomPoser Posted July 12, 2020 Author Posted July 12, 2020 Thank you NET1! That trumpet patch you have there is extremely bright! In my midi I added a bit of chorusing and modulation to the midi track - might that have influenced your mp3? Quote
