This is nice.  It seems like you study just minuets and compose based on experience what is proper and has precedent for these kinds of pieces.  But do you ever compose just whatever you want?  And not to mention all the other kinds of dances that there are such as the Courante, Sarabande, Gigue, or Bourree and others (don't know if I spelled that last one right).

Hi, thank you for listening to my minuet and for your comment. Im studying minuets mostly because they are short, well defined in terms of the form and they are traditionally the first composition beginners use to learn melody writing, harmony and form. Mozart for example learned to compose minuets before attempting larger works and taught his students in the same manner. My idea now is to compose pairs of minuets and study more music theory in between composing. In the future I'll learn how to compose marches and then I'll move onto maybe the rondo or theme and variations before tackling sonata form.

I loved it! I am also studying Minuets these days (as I also find them really useful for learning music composition without having to worry too much about complex forms) and your Minuets are being really helpful 🙂 . What impresses me the most is how you manage to create so simple but yet effective melodies!

Really nice Minuet and hope to see more comming!

Thank you for listening to my minuet and for your kind comment. I've composed three more over the last few days which I'll upload soon. I found your YouTube channel and listened to your two pieces, your melodies are beautiful.
