Choral in DM

Here another choral piece for SATB Voice, 3Trombone, Strings and Organ (Lyrics still pending). 

I liked the contrasting section in this which I guess ended up being in B minor.  The rhythms you choose aren't always predictable, but they do always make sense.  About the lyrics - which program is it that allows the lyrics to actually be sung by a simulated choir?  Sibelius?  I loved the harmonies in this.

Yes, contrasting section is indeed in the relative minor. I know some programs or VST instruments can simulate the lyrics on the voices, but I don't have any of those. I use Notion 6 with the VST of Vienna Instruments. 

Symphonic choirs is a software than can make a realistic choir sound, and actually sings the lyrics. I wish I had it, but its too expensive

Very nice.  My only suggestion is that voices are essentially in tutti with a homophonic texture all the time so after awhile it sounds a little "blocky."   It would be nice to have some contrapuntal contrast or at least more independent motion in the voices.

I have symphonic choirs, it's hard to use but the results are pretty awesome and worth it if you are serious about choral composition.  I used it for my requiem if you want to get a sense of what it sounds like:

It is beautiful, so dramatic and sad, if I ever reached such a level of composition, this would be my masterpiece, the only inconvenient (for me at least) is the end. I'm not saying it has to have a bombastic ending but if you could add a simple but firm perfect cadence  at the end I think it would be much better. But at the end of the day you are the composer so you are the one who decides, and how it is now is equally amazing.

Still trying to get it to work in sibelius, I don't have a midi keyboard.

Any updates to this?

Does it come with multiple pronunciation options in multiple languages and such?

It has a Wordbuilder. I haven't used it, but it looks pretty good. There is a video on their website that demonstrates it.

Wow that is quite complex.  I wonder if the phonetics/votox option allows you to use the same kind pronunciation key that you find in a dictionary next to a word.  I just looked that up online and it looks like each individual language has it's own unique pronunciation key.  I wonder how they managed to make it universal.  Thanks for the link!

The choral finishes with a perfect cadence II-V-I, you are right thoght that the II degree is a major chord acting as a secundary dominant of the dominant, but the double-dominant has the same function as de subdominant, so I think that's a perfect cadence. 

This blew me away! How long have you been composing? Please don't say 3 months, it'll crush me!! 😛
