Jacob Hem Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 (edited) Made an invention in F major. its heavily inspired by Bachs invention with the same name. Would love some feedback so I could improve and grow as a composer! The score is shown in the youtube video, but if you would really like the complete score, a link is in the youtube description youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNhAO4RuTgw Edited July 31, 2020 by Jacob Hem Quote
bkho Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 Very nice, clearly can hear the Bach inspiration. My only critique is that the ending was a little abrupt with just the final chord. I personally would have ended it with a small flourish breaking up the chord. Quote
Guillem82 Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 Wow, It's not easy to write interesting counterpoint for only two parts, but that's so beautifull. I agree the final is to abrubt. I would add a 2 beat perfect cadence on the last with some ritardando and fall on the tonic chord on the 3rd beat. Quote
Thatguy v2.0 Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Sounds like Bach. Hopefully you've learned a lot from your studies with his music. Feel free to share your thoughts on others' works, you'll find more feedback! Quote
Luis Hernández Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Beautiful sequences. I would try to remark some inner cadences to give breath. Quote
