Luis Hernández Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 HI all, I wrote these two little pieces. MP3 Play / pause JavaScript is required. 0:00 0:00 volume > next menu 01 Andante 02 Allegro > next PDF DOS PIEZAS PARA FAGOT Y PIANO 1 Quote
PeterthePapercomPoser Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 I liked the Allegro more than the Andante. It seemed to have more memorable melodies to me. The Andante did create a kind of an apathetic atmosphere though which was nice to sink into. I like also how the Allegro plays around with metric changes. The memorable melodies to me happen at measure 17 and later when that same melody is echoed by the bassoon at m. 21 is really cool. I also like your harmonic language which seems to be just tonal enough but dissonant enough to be fresh and unexpected. Nice job! Quote
Luis Hernández Posted August 4, 2020 Author Posted August 4, 2020 @PaperComposer Thanks for your time listening to this. I always encourage people to explore harmony, ... Yes, the pieces are tonal, but the progressions are not very standard. I erased the notation of chords for uploading the scores here. But I used to write them. Quote
Albayrak Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 Contrary to the post above, I liked the andante movement more. There is intense emotions and gives the desired feeling. Quote

Did you use roman numerals or letter names? Quote Thanks for your time listening to this. You're welcome! I enjoyed listening. Quote
Luis Hernández Posted August 4, 2020 Author Posted August 4, 2020 (edited) @PaperComposer I write the names of the chords, whenever the music is tonal. Some people ask me to do it. Edited August 4, 2020 by Luis Hernández Quote
