  • Another favorite, from PC land: Civilation 4's "Baba Yetu."

  • My favourite soundtrack is from vagrant story.   But I like so much game music that listing it would take forever, lol.

Ah, well that makes sense. A titan as far as I'm concerned in the genre. When will we all realize that Peter is just right when it comes to video game soundtracks. I just started my first plunge into

Braid has a pretty nice soundtrack! I suppose it's style is a little classical, but it sets a great mood.

Going in another direction, Life is Strange has a nice soundtrack too. You have Jonathan Morali's sweet guitar, and then there's Daughter writing heavy impact music for Before The Storm (song like, but not quite):

Super Adventure Island - Ice Groove (found in a SMW rom hack):  (I think this track demonstrates how you can effectively use blue notes to imply the Locrian mode)

A few months ago I discovered the Moonlighter Soundtrack (I've never played the game) and I fell in love. While all music gets old when you overlisten to it (which I did), I still appreciate this song, my favorite one from the OST:

I like how this song can evoke such a brave and exploratory emotion with mostly diatonic harmony. I have been one to overobsess over fancy chromatic harmony, and this song has proven that amazing things can be done with diatonic harmony. From my knowledge, the only borrowed chord is the V chord, which is expected.
