hexachord Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 I'd like to share with you a short mouvement for cello solo, I called it 'Silent Cries'. It is the result of an improvisation I did on the cello on January 5th 2020. Some of you will maybe have heard of a heavy car accident on that day in Italy (https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/italy-car-crash-bruneck-tyrol-luttach-tourist-germany-alps-police-victims-a9270836.html). I have been several times to the place where that accident happened - so that piece of music is sort of my reaction to that accident. I tried to write down the music as well as possible some days later, there may be some unattractive/boring bars in it. Please let me know! The player I use cannot play cresc. and decresc., so you have to imagine. At the moment I'm not able to record the piece with my cello, maybe I'll do that later. Monarcheon Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 Reminds me somewhat of Lutoslawski's cello concerto, in the D's. Perhaps a bit too much push and pull that never seems to make full use of the instrument's range when it gets rhythmically climactic, but your head's in the right place. Quote
