DanJTitchener Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 Hello! Here is a new piano sonata allegro movement that I've written during the pandemic. I'd welcome any feedback you might have. 🙂 Dan   PDF Piano Sonata in C minor - 17 AUG - Full Score 7 Quote
bkho Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 Love it. Classical in form but with unexpected harmonic twists that come fast and furious, kind of reminds me of Domenico Scarlatti in that way. 1 Quote
Tortualex Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Very good sonata, excellent use of dynamics, the only criticism that I have to make is that the ending is a little anticlimatic, but that's just my opinion, good work Quote
Albayrak Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 I think you have successfully blended the classical period style with your own style. I especially liked the melody , on the repeating notes.I enjoyed listening. Quote
PeterthePapercomPoser Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 The only thing I didn't like about this is meas. 115-125 which seem prolong the dominant for far too long to my ear. It sounds labored because you keep building expectation and even though you resolve to the tonic in 121 you then immediately return to the dominant and build more and more. To me it's just too much repetition. But that's just my own personal taste. Overall this was quite an enjoyable sonata! Great job. Guillem82 Posted September 4, 2020 Posted September 4, 2020 Very good sonata movement, I specially enjoyed the staccato repeated notes sections with some counterpoint on the right and left hand. You could think on a second and third movement to complete a piano sonata. Quote
