Moueen Issa
This is an incomplete piece I have composed. It is my first attempt of trying to compose jazz for piano. I hope you give me your opinion as well as advice on how to learn more about jazz piano. PeterthePapercomPoser
This reminds me more of the swing era than jazz although they're closely related. Have you ever heard of bebop? Jazz usually has a more syncopated rhythmic chord pattern in the piano. All the left hand chords in this piece happen either on a beat or as a pickup to a beat, which if you want your music to sound more like jazz is a pit-fall. Other than that it's an enjoyable little hop.
gmm
I think this might work a little better if you slowed it down just a little bit and had the left hand playing a stride rhythm. I think the melody would fit well in that style. If you don't know what that is here's a couple of tutorial videos.
