Between the A and B sections of my Nocturne, the tempo doesn't change. And there is a gradual increase in momentum towards the B section until you get to repeated sixteenths that gives all the momentum to the nightmarish B section of my Nocturne. But I've had enough of the Nightmare over a C pedal I think. And currently I am at an F minor chord. This could certainly lead to more peace before the ultimate peace of the Eb major comes back. But the problem I'm running into has to do with all the momentum. I don't want to like suddenly go into a Chorale type section and have the momentum drop to half note right away, that just feels wrong. You don't suddenly get out of a nightmare with the snap of a finger, it takes time. And because the tempo doesn't change between sections, I don't see how a Ritardando would be useful. After all, that could lead to a sudden jump in momentum when the Eb major comes back. You see what I mean? I think this calls for a gradual drop in momentum, but without a Ritardando, how would I do that? Write a Minuet type passage and let the peace of the al Minuetto passage naturally drop the momentum? I've only written Minuets in 2 voices, never 3. And I've only successfully done it once(other tries have led to the A section of the Minuet sounding wrong). And my entire Nocturne has been in 4/4, so how would I get a Minuet feel in 4?

I'd notate them that way image.png.26ec0f09919a0b7ae5a357e27597080a.png

Yea my painting skills with a mouse are not great, I hope you understand what I aimed for.

I believe that big half note chords could keep the tension, but choose your notes carefully, especially if you only have three players (strings though, so you could have more voices). If you tried and don't like your outcome- try to have the Vlc and Vla play the half notes and the Vln still running above them, with big jumps and a violent tremolo. I don't see that as a problem- try and see if you like the outcome.

I don't see half notes as "party blowers", it could even keep your tension if you balance them well with the quicker ones.

I didn't really do the tremolo notation at all because especially at the beginning of the C minor section, it changes with every beat, so I just went with notating it as repeated sixteenth notes. I didn't even think that half notes could hold the tension, so I ended up going through a Minuet-like section to gradually lower the momentum and bring the piece back to major.
