AngelCityOutlaw Posted October 2, 2020 Posted October 2, 2020 A blues-rock tune I composed inspired by classic bands like ZZTop as well as 70s/80s American car chase movies. Let me know what you think! A friend of mine from a local metal band recorded the electric guitar parts. 4 Quote
Gustav Johnson Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 I really loved the slide guitar parts :) Quote

Yeah, I played electric guitar for many years, but I just got an acoustic a few months ago. I bought a slide for it specifically to play on this tune, but I only had like a couple of hours practice before recording it lol Quote
alcapone_dudu Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 Very cool! I liked it a lot. Especially the lead guitar. Quote

Ha, Thanks. I appreciate the support and confidence. I have fortunately made some money with music over the years, probably more than most get to, and I'm actually presently working on music for a VR Game, but to be honest, making a career out of composing is pretty difficult and at the age of 29, no longer a terribly practical pursuit or desirable even lol. mark styles Posted July 22, 2021 Posted July 22, 2021 This is RIGHT ON target..Brilliant guitar work.. Would you consider EQ'ing Slide Guitar brighter and raising volume so it would feel like the player was sitting right on stage with the solo electric guitar.. Excellent chord progression, instead of a standard blues progression, you through in some surprises which let you made the different snippets of E Guitar solos quite effective... very impressive.. mark styles Posted July 23, 2021 Posted July 23, 2021 Kept thinking about this piece, came back for additional listenings.. On further ponderance, perhaps some strong compression, along with EQ and volume, could get the slide guitar work = more into the same family sound palette as the electric guitars. Just my opinion through. Still GREAT WORK Quote
