Guillem82 Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 (edited) Hi, here my new fugue in Baroque style. Formwise I analized some Haendel Fugues to grab some ideas. I think it's my first fugue I'm satisfied with, previus attemps weren't at good. Though it's a four voice fugue, mainly one of them remains in silence Let me know your opinion. Any comments are wellcome! PeterthePapercomPoser Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 This is a decently developed fugue that you've written! What's unusual is that at one point you seem to have a developmental episode followed by another episode instead of immediately going into a middle entry. The E minor and A minor middle entries are great evidence that you successfully modulated into some closely related keys in your development. Your episodes are quite exciting in their fragmentation of various different parts of the subject. Also, the counter-subjects you use give some great sequential dissonances to color the descending line in your subject. I do hear a strong Handel influence in this fugue and it almost seems like it would be more appropriate as a choral fugue than the way it is now. Did you use really bright brass sounds on purpose because I'm pretty sure I've heard better sounding brass in your renditions before this. Thanks for sharing! Quote
maestrowick Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 No need to write the 1st trombone part in C Clef. Good ol' bass clef will do Quote
