Bělásek Posted January 31, 2021 Posted January 31, 2021 The tension throughout the piece is great. The dynamics helps it a lot. I found interesting, that there are not any very high tones, as they often are on the violin. Is it to keep the piece more darker? Or pleasant? However the aviability of the score would be helpful. Denatura Sonorum Posted January 31, 2021 Author Posted January 31, 2021 (edited) Perhaps not intentionally, but darker ? Yes. Thaks, Belasek, for the listening and commenting. Edited February 4, 2021 by Denatura Sonorum Quote
Giacomo925 Posted February 2, 2021 Posted February 2, 2021 This is very beautiful to listen to. I just listened to it twice. I'd love to see the score. The use you make of dissonances and how the texture is "full" throughout the piece but never overwhelming is very clever. Maybe one thing that could make this beautiful piece even better would be longer, more lyrical melodic lines, even if they remain in the medium-low registers throughout. Quote
Denatura Sonorum Posted February 4, 2021 Author Posted February 4, 2021 Thank you, Giacomo925. This piece was made, in part, on a DAW, so the score need some finishing to reach its final stage. I'll work on that. Quote
Markus Boyd Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 This is indeed a dark piece. Do share the score so we can see exactly what is going on. Quote
Seni-G Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 I really like it! String orchestra is a perfect medium for this mood you've created. Reminds me a bit of the slow movement of Mahler's 5th symphony. The Mahler piece however has multiple moments where the music rises and tension, and spikes in emotion before falling back down into a quiet, somber mood. I wonder if you could lead this music to a sweeping climax then bring it back down, or experiment with that? You've set the vibe well, but the mood does not fluctuate much in this music. If you give this music a more pronounced story arc, you will have something really captivating on your hands. Quote
Denatura Sonorum Posted February 7, 2021 Author Posted February 7, 2021 Thank you, Seni-G, for your thoughts. It's a way of doing things. I've tried some times to do more or less like you put it. But in some way it feels awkward to me, I mean : being to cerebral. I see nothing wrong with that, but for me, when I write, I try to find the balance between what I want and to where this "what", I've just created, wants to go. Quote
