Mikebat321 Posted March 1, 2021 Posted March 1, 2021 May I invite you to listen to Curvetude for solo piano, with a style somewhere between a Chopin Etude and a pop ballad! Guaranteed to soothe your spirits.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YP9bx9KTfqg Many thanks. Quote
PeterthePapercomPoser Posted March 1, 2021 Posted March 1, 2021 A piece with many shades of brightness and darkness that seamlessly blend into each other. The piece stays interesting through many cool modulations and introduction of new sections in (from what I can tell) remotely related keys. It's amazing how you keep the piece going for such a long time. The texture pretty much stays the same throughout although the piece is not without it's contrasts. I love the recapitulation (somewhere after the 10 minute mark). The harmony is really beautiful in the main theme. I love the gradual segue's into more and more remote chromaticisms that you accomplish in this piece. It does sound unfinished though like it comes to rest on a half cadence and then there's 45 or so seconds of silence at the end? Thanks for sharing and I hope you finish it! Quote
