I think this is a great tuneful and adventurous piece!  I just didn't really feel like there was a satisfying conclusion in the end.  Also - some of your cello double stops seem unnecessary and muddy sounding - but that might be just me.  Thanks for sharing!

Thanks a lot Peter! Indeed the ending is not good as I just cut it off, feel like it’s not the end but I’m lack of inspiration then🤣. Not sure about the muddy sounding thing, which part do you mean?

You're welcome!  I doesn't seem like it would be hard to end from what you have ... I'd just bring the bass to a satisfying resting note and call it done.  As far as the muddy sounding cello I'm mostly talking about places like m. 25 and 27 where it's playing thirds in a somewhat low range.  That's just me though and on a 2nd re-listening that didn't bother me as much.

Oh I see your point! Yea I also feel it's muddy now and have changed it a little bit. Well for the ending, lemme think about it and leave it open for now.

Thanks again!

It is a very unorthodox instrumentation for a string quartet! I would it is rather enjoyable, you did take inspiration from say Latin American tangos right? On to some of the gritty details, the double stops of the cello are mostly fine other than the ones like G#-B which I think is unplayable (I could be wrong), also the part with the interplay between violin 1 and 2 may not have the desired effect that you may be going for in real life. But overall, a really enjoyable piece!

An interesting piece that flows along nicely, energetically. A Tango flavour here and there. The ending seemed perfectly fitting to me - and it's about time the Double Bass got a look in on the gig.

Nice.
