edfgi234
An old piece I tried to update and make less messy (may or may not have worked). Any feedback would be great. Luis Hernández
Very nice piece. My handicap is that from a point in the composition, I get lost with the structure (parts, etc....). Being a long piece, I think it's important to "remember" the parts and entrances. Unless you want to cause a different impression in the listener. I also thing the transition in measeures 50-58 doesn't work well. Coming from a "romantic" part, you go to a new one that sounds jazzy, but those measures don't connect the two. Perhaps including some material of the new part in the transition would work better.
MJFOBOE
This is a sweet jazzy work with a feeling of longing. It is indeed quite "pretty". I do have a question though, I notice some of the chords are full. i.e., measure 26, not being a pianist I wonder if those chords pose any difficulty for the pianist in the context of the musical line? You create a beautiful texture/mood.
edfgi234
Thanks a lot @Luis Hernández and @MJFOBOE for your nice comments and feedback. Yes I lost the structure myself in the middle section. There were a fair few ideas to cram in that made it a bit of a mess. I'll have a think on how to sort that as I honestly don't know how atm. That's a good idea, I'll try to connect the two sections more smoothly. Hmm, I'm not actually sure if the full chords cause a problem in that aspect. When I attempted to play that chord it didn't seem to cause a problem (although I may be wrong). Cheers again, useful stuff.
