I have just bought a 61 key keyboard (until now I have just done composing in computer music programs inbuilt keyboards) and I would be thankful for help how I correct shall mark this 61 key keyboard with glue stickers, which key shall I start to mark, is it the first key from the left or which key is it? And which letters shall I mark the keys with and in which order?

Thanks!

Unless I'm mistaken a 61-note keyboard runs from C2 at the bottom to C7 at the top (if defining middle C as C4).

If you really need to mark the keys, how do you want to mark them? With letter names? Letter names + midi octave? Or midi note numbers only. If you want just midi numbers, the bottom C is 36 then just plus 1 for each note above up to top C which is 96. This could be useful if you're building up an "instrument" (VSTi) or something.

If it's just the letter names, start with the bottom one as C. Don't forget to include the sharps and flats.

If you want to call the bottom note 1, number them upwards from there. Just my opinion but it's best to get to know what the notes are anyway and as soon as possible, relate them to notes written on music.

Hi Quinn,

Forgive me for my late answer, thank you immensely for your kindness answering my question.

I want to mark the keys with accords so other people can play the songs I compose. I have marked the keys with starting from the left on the keyboard with C D E F G, and then A B C D E F G and then it continues with A B C D E F G and over and over again untill the end of the keyboard at the right side. So I have written my ackords with only theese letters A B C D E F G, but how will people know which section of the keyboard they correctly will use to play my song? Like how will they know if they shall play it in the right part section of the piano using A B C D E F G or if they would play it in the middle section of the keyboard or in the left section of the keyboard? I can´t understand how they would know which section they will use to get the exact same sound on the tones as in my song.

Have a lovely day, and thanks again!

/Maria
