”Le dodi” a new worship song with song lyrics inspired from the ”Song of songs”.
Tones from a single orchestral harp and a blend of English and Hebrew language gives an ancient music sound.

You know what I like about this - its simplicity, its calm and the harmony is just touched in.   Whoever is singing has a breathy, slight voice that gave the piece a mood of innocence (to me, anyway), slightly out of tune in places (which doesn't matter - it could be deliberate microtonal inflexions).

I'm very familiar with the Song of Songs (canticum canticorum) having myself tried to set the first chapter in Latin.

My only criticism is that the harp needs to be a little quieter.   At present it sounds more like a guitar too close to the microphone. Faded down just a notch would reduce its dominance.

Edit: And it's one of the more original works I've encountered here, the blending of languages, the mix of texts, that calm voice.

I am intrigued!

Nice, Maria.

Wow, I agree with Quinn's enthusiasm - your music is hauntingly beautiful. A little spooky and on edge, it really gives it a sense of flow and the sparse use of the harp is particularly effective. What a fantastic piece!

Thank you for sharing

Thank you Quinn! I was so very happy to read your comment. With this song I have tried to produce the sound of an ancient love song how I imagine they would sound like 2000-3000 years ago. It is me Maria whom is singing.
Wow sounds like a very interesting project that you set the Song of songs in Latin! The "Song of songs" is so very beautiful.
Thank you for your suggestion about the volume of the harp, it was just this I was struggling with when I had finished the song, I was unsure how
high or low the harp volume should be.

Have a lovely day! : )
