DanJTitchener Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 Hi all! I've wanted to write a piece using the ABBA's Mamma Mia for a while, because I think it such a great song, and well... this is the result... I left it as a question mark, because I have no idea what it is really - loosely resembles a sonatina but with a verse/bridge/chorus structure instead of two theme groups and a transition. Instead of coming back with a final "chorus", I decided to leave it with a modified middle-8 as it sort of resembled the "chorus" anyway. Hope you like it. SergeOfArniVillage Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 I really like it! I never would have guessed this was derived from the song Mamma Mia unless you had said so. Clever writing, tightly written. My only complaint is ms. 18, because the R.H playing both the bottom part of the treble and the bass clef is really awkward as written — that low E would require a 10th span between the thumb and 4th finger. I would suggest a minor alteration to make it more like the previous 3 mss. in terms of what is required on a technical level, even if it’s just omitting the low E. Great piece! Thanks for sharing 😊 Quote
