Well, it's pleasant, easy listening. Nice tame dragons.

Dividing it into sections was good because the harmonic rhythm rarely varied from Ia Vb IVb or VIa Va IVa as far as I could hear so 6 minutes + without a break would have been too much.

I felt the density of the backing obscured separate instrumental lines that were apparent here and there (not the guitar of course but that wasn't part of the backing. The guitar and piano worked well together in dialogue.

Well done.

It's beautiful, atmospheric, relaxing, emotive... May I ask why it's called dance of the dragons though?? curious to know what about this is evocative of dragons for you???

And also as a technologically backward classical composer, I'm curious about the instrumentation... piano, some kind of electronics, an electric guitar and strings?? Oh and a good percussion section of course...

Very lovely though, would love to listen to this on a night-time drive.

Regards,

Zeb.

Thanks for listening! The title doesn't mean that much, it just appeared in my head. A piano, soft analog pad, electric MIDI bass, electric guitar, strings, and the percussion is the world kit from Logic Pro X.

I think it has the makings of good piece.

But right now I'd say it goes too long, lacks a clear structure, and the phrasing of most of the melodies lacks the rhythmic coherency and structure unto itself.

What happens is that it makes it difficult to recall and follow any particular section of the piece outside of the general harmonic context. I got that sense as soon as I stopped listening.

The only other thing is that the bass is a little too heavy in places, especially where the piano is voiced lower, and I would say the string samples hurt the piece. I'd substitute that for a different virtual instrument.

The reason is your guitar sounds great, the piano and bass are all fine, but then you have this much lower-quality timbre come out and it really draws attention to itself when surrounded by the others. It's like reverse cheerleader effect.

Also, I'd sweep an EQ across the guitar, piano and pad, since there were some rather sharp resonances on the ears in some notes.

But overall I do definitely like the vibe and the choice of instruments.
