mercurypickles Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 This is a setting of an Anne Bronte poem that I've liked for a long time. I really enjoy this piece, it was originally written with a certain competition in mind, though I became dissatisfied with this piece and quickly wrote a new one; after which I immediately realized this one was probably stronger. Well too bad, I entered the other one and am now waiting on results. Anyway, please let me know what you think of this piece! Quinn Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Just happened to pop on here... What a lovely madrigal. You have a knack with choral writing - modern enough but still easily singable. Lovely harmony and interplay of parts. Well, you won me over straight away with Anne Bronte. Well done for finding this poem. She didn't write a lot but she's among the faves. The publication of the Bronte's poems is fascinating. Well done. 1 Quote
mercurypickles Posted January 29, 2022 Author Posted January 29, 2022 Thank you so much! I think Anne Bronte is really underrated, though that's partially because she didn't right a lot and died pretty young. I'm glad you liked this piece. Quote
