Quinn Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 A brave effort but too close to tonality and the romantic era (occasionally whole tone) and didn't seem microtonal at all until bar 108 for a few bars and a few other places. I read it as intentionally a piece for computer-performance. Microtonal pianos have been built and it's possible to create an electronic one (on voltage-controlled synthesisers at least by altering the voltage span of the keyboard - but at the expense of compass) It's a pretty good composition but doesn't explore the possibilities offered by microtones. The opening sounds more like Chopin or Schubert. 1 Quote
Jerry Engelbach Posted March 3, 2022 Posted March 3, 2022 Where is it microtonal and how is it "pioneering"? 1 Quote
