Bradley Scarff Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 I was feeling terrible mentally yesterday and spent the entire day writing this, taking heavy influence from Chopin, but trying to put my own spin on it. Luis Hernández Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 It's nice, with more intention than efficacy. The forever I-V harmony and ostinato left-hand pattern plus the scale development of the melody makes it feel as an improvisation. Quote
KStoertebeker Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 I have to agree with Luis. Harmonically, a simple I-V might fit a berceuse, but some rhythmic freedom could really help. Your diminutions are mostly on the beat and just divide by an even number, which accents the scalar motion. Additionally, the figure in M. 10 comes really unprepared and leaves as soon at it began.
