PeterthePapercomPoser Posted May 12, 2024 Author Posted May 12, 2024 This song from the musical "The Greatest Showman" recently caught my attention: Quote
Fiddeou Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 (edited) Oooh I have a lot. Let me start with a very beautiful one by Michael Giacchino and orchestrator Tim Simonec I especially like the writing of the strings during the pizzicato section, and of course the flute's melody. Ratatouille has excellent music. It's interesting to see how Michael Giacchino had way more creative ideas in his early days Edited July 13, 2024 by Fiddeou 1 Quote
Henry Ng Tsz Kiu Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Composing my own palliative version of the main themes in one of the very last passages of the Sextet makes me think of the song.... A wonderful piece from a wonderful film from a wonderful and the only one.... Akira Kurosawa... 1 Quote
Henry Ng Tsz Kiu Posted March 7 Posted March 7 Since I have shared this on discord, I must also share it here to earn a reputation point: It's funny as a satire and have me laugh as fxxk as always. Kubrick's use of Classical music is always so good! 2 Quote
Thatguy v2.0 Posted March 8 Posted March 8 when Henry uses the F word, it's always brings joy to my heart 1 Quote
Henry Ng Tsz Kiu Posted Thursday at 02:45 PM Posted Thursday at 02:45 PM So well fitted to the film Castle in the Sky, tho a bit too sweet to take it outside the film, just like the Rite without the Nijinsky ballet dance sounds weird to me. 1 Quote
Henry Ng Tsz Kiu Posted Saturday at 01:31 PM Posted Saturday at 01:31 PM My Neighbour Totoro is Miyazaki’s Pastoral Symphony…. This one is freakingly good! And when I listened to this in the film with those pastoral scenes, I know immediately the English Horn is related to pastoral scenes like Berlioz!s usage in the Symphonies Fantastique! Henry 1 Quote
Henry Ng Tsz Kiu Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago I just finish watching the animation Flow this morning and gosh, the film is so amazing and philosophical. I enjoy the overall impressionistic and New music like style film music in the film which perfectly fits what the film wants to tell us. The film music itself is spectacular because it's also done by this film's director. The director does almost fxxkingly everything in the film: Direct, Screenplay, Producer, Cinematography, editing, and even the music is composed by him!! Below are some of the soundtracks I love: This one is great with its dissonance. Wonderful color and climax. This one is used in the climax of the film and its transcendental nature immediately reminds... my own Sextet LoL??!! Both are great! I watch this because @Mooravioli recommends it to me. Thx bro!
