Alex Weidmann Posted June 16, 2022 Posted June 16, 2022 (edited) Hi all. In this piece, I was trying to deconstruct "King" by Years & Years. Have taken parts of the chord progression and synth line; but added a jazz inflected melody on the hollow piano to make it my own. The rhythm track is an off the shelf loop that I've slightly modified. I've been told the melody is too syncopated, and I should tone down the numbers offbeats. Interested to hear what you guys think on that point? Alex Weidmann Posted June 18, 2022 Author Posted June 18, 2022 I just meant the tempo was looser. More like jazz than pop music. Or at least it was supposed to be. The aim was to try to combine pop and jazz influences; though I'm not sure I pulled it off really. Quote
