Omicronrg9 Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 You have a pretty defined style (I suppose, 3 pieces may not be the best statistical sample one could get to jump into conclusions) which I do like. I found this piece cheerful and light. I must say that despite its singular beauty I prefer the canyon vista suite over it hehe. Do you rate your own pieces? Kind regards! Quote
Quinn Posted July 3, 2022 Posted July 3, 2022 (edited) Certainly a light, airy piece, succinct, no great demands made of the players. You use limited resources well and this piece should rightly be part of a suite in my view! Although the horn sounded pretty authentic, I can't claim to feel the same about the oboe or cello. If I may ask, what sample library were you using? [Edit] It could be the articulations, how the notes attack and release. Edited July 3, 2022 by Quinn Quote
MJFOBOE Posted July 4, 2022 Author Posted July 4, 2022 The Oboe "computer" generated sound in NotePerformer is pretty awful. I have wrote numerous emails to them to complain. The algorithm they use is obviously not good. NotePerformer is quite good for orchestra work; however, less satisfactory for chamber music. I am glad you recognize "my style" 😇 ... thanks for listening! Different works have different weights ... it all depends upon which Muse is whispering in my ear. I do have my favorites though ... which can change over the years. Quote
